RMH Video Visit “How To”
If you need to see your Rush Memorial Hospital healthcare provider, but don’t want to come into the office, most RMH providers are now available through RMH Video Visits. Using this remote service, patients can see their primary care providers at Healthcare Associates and Pediatric. Other providers are available for follow up visits only.
The only equipment you will need is a smart phone, a laptop or a digital notebook, with audio and video capability. If using the phone or digital notebook, please download the HealtheLife app. It can be found on the App Store and Google Play.
A video visit can be scheduled in the same way that a face-to-face visit is scheduled: by calling the office of your provider. An RMH Customer Service Representative will help walk you through the process of setting up and using the video visit option. If you do not already have a Patient Portal account, they will help you create one, as all RMH Video Visits are conducted through the Portal.
Before your visit, be sure that your electronic device is charged and ready to go. Choose a well-lit area that is private and free from the TV, radio, and other distractions.
As with every healthcare visit, it’s best to prepare a list of questions and concerns that you want to discuss with your provider. This is particularly important if you have more than one condition. If you have any questions regarding your medications, it’s easy to bring your bottles to your desk or video visit area.
If you do happen to forget something during your visit, the Patient Portal contains an area for communicating with your healthcare provider. Just leave a message on the Patient Portal and check back later for a response.
